December 3, 2025MASSENA — Gov. Kathleen C. Hochul announced Tuesday that she has signed off on a power agreement between the New York Power Authority and Alcoa that will preserve 500 jobs at Alcoa’s Massena West aluminum plant for at least 10 years and possibly twice that long.
Alcoa has also committed to investing $3 million annually, or $30 million total, into the facility through March 31, 2036, in exchange for 240 megawatts of low-cost NYPA hydroelectric power.
